The Family Café exists to provide individuals with disabilities and their families with an opportunity for collaboration, advocacy, friendship and empowerment by serving as a facilitator of communication, a space for dialogue and a source of information.
The Family Cafe – It’s our belief that people with disabilities should make their voices heard in the lawmaking process, and the first step to getting involved is to know about the issues and where they stand.
The Family Cafe shares the questions and comments we receive with with the State Agency or office that has the answer, and they respond directly.
We also use their replies to create our annual Questions & Answers Book, which we publish in the fall.
